What an amazing display of Sense of Community!
Anton Baker has been co-ordinating the collection of Meadow Fresh stickers by students and their whānau. The students told me this morning that they had collected enough stickers to cover the whole of New Zealand, and demonstrated this by laying the sticker sheets out in the shape of the New Zealand map.
Meadow Fresh are giving away art and sports equipment to some lucky schools; our students have collected 5000 stickers to put us in the draw. We have our fingers crossed ...
The application is being sent off today. Thank you to our school community for once again helping out.

Cultural Celebration at Christchurch East
Kia ora everyone,
We have had an amazing start to the day today, as our students have visited other rooms across the school to share the cultures they have been studying this term.
Looking forward to seeing everyone this afternoon at the Cultural Festival Performance in the hall.

Upcoming Cultural Celebration
I have really enjoyed seeing (and hearing!) our students practising With Heart for the upcoming Cultural Celebration. Emily and Jack are part of the Junior Kapa Haka group, and they hope you'll come along in the last week of term to see their and others' performances. Look out for your special invitation coming home in Week 9.

Picnic with the Principal
Kia ora!
What a wonderful week - I've shared two picnic lunches with our amazing students. These students, and many more, were in the draw for displaying the C+O+O+L Factor or for Living our School Values (or both) in Term 2. I enjoy listening to the children's stories and viewpoints, and acknowledging their achievements in many different areas of the curriculum.
The students whose names were drawn from the kete are, from Team Kauri: Torrin, Zak, Samantha, Harrison, Alex, Gwen and Eva; and, from Team Koru: Maximillian, Tilly, Manuel, Lily, Charlotte, Maia, Atalasa, Aidan, Diana, Yasiira and Alix (and Miss Jowett joined us too). We all enjoyed a feast of pizza and fruit kebabs in our Community Room.
Well done, everyone!
